To access a specific student report click on the given percentage bar. A new page will open displaying the percentages. Once you are logged in click on a specific class name and open the relevant assignment. To view a report go to the Turnitin website and log in. Turnitin originality reports will be generated automatically after document submission. Turnitin will generate confirmation of the document submission which will be emailed to the respective student. Lecturers/instructors can also submit documents on behalf of a student. Students have direct access to Turnitin via the Internet and can upload their own documents.

Students are required to use the formal Unisa Turnitin classes for the relevant college. In addition to the formal student classes and assignments. Classes & AssignmentsĬlasses & Assignments are set up within each college automatically for their respective students. Should a student have diffciulty to log in, the Unisa Turnitin Team can be contacted on There is no need for the student to 'create account'. Students LOG IN directly online using their myLife email addresses. This enables the students to upload their academic papers to the Turnitin database. Registered Unisa M&D students are enrolled automatically within their respective colleges. Instructors/Lecturers are then able to monitor a student's similarity index. The system then checks the submitted document for non-originality (possible plagiarism) by comparing submitted papers to several databases/repositories on the world wide web. Instructors/Lecturers require students to submit their written assignments to Turnitin. Hence in this process they are able to improve their academic writing. This allows students to develop quality writing skills as it facilitates rich, significant feedback on their submitted work.

If your Lecturer has allowed multiple submission attempts, make changes to your assignment and upload the updated document to the assignment dropbox by clicking on Edit submission and uploading the new file. If your work is successfully submitted to Turnitin, you should see a message notifying you of the successful upload. Text can be copied and pasted into the submission box. Text submission - where you only want to check a section of your assignment, or where formatting is not important. You can also consider the text submission option below. (Rich text is almost universally available, but might lose some formatting). If your work is in a different format, you will need to export it as one of the above, or use a word processing/text editing package to copy and paste the text into a new file in one of these formats.
